Taqtile's Manifest solution.
Taqtile reveals new developments to its Manifest platform to help advance inspection and defect detection processes for users in the industrial and defence sectors. The augmented reality (AR) specialist hopes these innovations will help users more efficiently identify, track, and manage faults that are discovered during the inspection process. Building upon this fault detection system, Taqtile claims the overall aim of Manifest is to limit human errors that tend to be found in paper-based systems.
Inspections, particularly in the industrial and defence sectors, tend to be time-consuming and as a result, can be left either incomplete or inaccurate. By using a step-by-step guide, Manifest aims to eliminate this limitation so that critical data can be captured which will help with error detection. Once a fault is detected, using Manifest individuals or teams can be assigned tasks to resolve the issue.
“Inspection and compliance processes are arduous, requiring excellent communication and precise documentation if organisations hope to efficiently and successfully resolve faults as they occur. Our customers need more usable, robust tools that empower them to achieve their goals,” said John Tomizuka, CTO at Taqtile. “Spatially enabling these processes will revolutionise how our industrial and defence customers conduct inspections, resolve faults, and support their desk-less workers.”
Key features of Taqtile’s Manifest:
- Locate faults: Using Manifest’s AR environment or head-mounted displays, tablets (e.g., iPads) and other mobile devices can locate defects. Upon detection, associated data can be accessed using the Manifest platform.
- Create fault notes: Information like photographs and pen notes can be assigned to a specific fault, creating a fault history that can be used to resolve the issue quickly.
- Assign tasks: Delegate non-procedural work tasks to a specific team or individual. These tasks can then be tracked.
- Audit reports and trails: Automatically generate inspection reports and create audit trails to eliminate additional paperwork and minimise the chance of future errors occurring.
