Small and shiny are two particular properties considering a 3D scanners worst nightmare. German start-up AESUB was established to tackle this particular problem head on.
“Our mission is to develop and to provide best in class products for the scanning and digitisation industry.” says the company's founder, Friedrich Schlott on the AESUB website.
The company's initial product portfolio consisted of 3D scanning sprays, designed to improve the 3D scanning attributes of tricky to scan reflective, transparent or parts with deep pockets.
The scanning sprays that vanish generate a white, dry-to-handle layer that instantly evaporates after scanning. Scan items and components do not need to be cleaned. Pigments do not contaminate laboratories, sensors, environments, or users.

That's the shiny part sorted but for small, AESUB has developed the lightweight and easy to assemble AESUBframe.
The frame is additive manufacturing using an aerospace material that makes it up to 50% lighter than typical aluminium frames.

With built-in connectors and integrated clamping add-ons, the AESUB target frame allows for simple construction and efficient multi-angle scanning. For ease of transportation the frame is designed to fit be disassembled and fits into a carry case.
