SICK Augmented Reality Assistant (SARA)
SICK has launched its new SICK Augmented Reality Assistant (SARA) solution. The augmented reality (AR) app merges machine, sensor, and diagnostic information to provide the user with data visualisation and error analysis. Users can utilise handheld devices like mobile phones to review data taken from any source and map said data into the SARA AR engine.
SARA aims to provide improved visibility by detecting errors that are not visible to the naked eye. The app also provides access to data and faults at the location where they have occurred. This should speed up the commissioning, diagnostic, condition monitoring and maintenance activities and improve quality assurance levels.
“SARA is a unique application, blending data visualisation with the real environment and delivering it via the technology you have in your pocket. Using SARA, teams can reduce the risk of outages, increase machine availability and boost productivity by ensuring equipment is performing optimally,” said Charlie Walker, Data Solutions Consultant at SICK UK.
“SICK’s SARA AR app can be used to bring employees up to speed quickly with equipment, to regularly monitor machines and to enhance safety. Codes can be scanned and linked to relevant documentation to provide access to critical information where and when it is needed. The possibilities and opportunities SARA can bring are vast and we are excited to officially launch it to the UK market to see how companies unleash its potential.”
