Precision parts
General Inspection has revealed that a leading precision screw machine part manufacturer has installed one of its Gi-100DT automated inspection systems at its facility. The machine features six high-resolution cameras to enhance analysis levels. Allegedly, the Gi-100DT can also inspect over 300 parts per minute.
Gi-100DT camera layout:
- Three cameras to capture all profile features (e.g., threads, lengths, diameters, and angles).
- Top and bottom cameras to measure outer and inner diameters, roundness, and concentricity.
Additionally, with Gi’s intuitive software, exact print specification measurements can be provided. All this data is then saved and can be recalled in the future with part numbers providing improved changeover times.
With patented optics, the cameras on the Gi-100DT can scrutinise the top, bottom, and internal surfaces for any defects (including dents, scratches, chatter, pitting, and chips).
Other errors like cracks, burrs, and dents, can also be discovered with the use of advanced algorithms and lighting techniques. General Inspection believes the system can ensure “the highest standards of quality control.”
