Renishaw unveils its new subsidiary based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The move makes Renishaw one of the first UK-based advanced engineering companies to establish a permanent presence in the Middle East. Renishaw Gulf LLC will sit within the growing manufacturing and advanced engineering sectors in the region.

The advanced manufacturing specialist is hoping that the expansion will help customers in the region access Renishaw’s industrial metrology, position encoders, and additive manufacturing product portfolio. As well as promoting its sales presence, the new subsidiary will offer applications engineering resources including local technical support, diagnostics, and repair services, that were previously unavailable. Additionally, next-day delivery of common replacement parts and products will be available, helping Renishaw provide an improved breakdown service.
“Many Middle East nations are beginning to reduce their dependence on oil revenues and investing to diversify their economies,” said Brett Allard, Managing Director at Renishaw Gulf. “The UAE's ‘Make it in the Emirates' campaign and Saudi Arabia's ‘Vision 2030' framework, both champion investment in the region's manufacturing industries including aerospace, defence and e-mobility. As these develop, we'll continue to see increased demand for Renishaw's support and engineering expertise.”

An overarching goal is that Renishaw Gulf will help manufacturers meet and solve challenges within manufacturing in the Middle East. Issues that may arise include extreme temperature fluctuations. Renishaw hopes its metrology solutions can help mitigate these effects, so customers can retain stable and in control machining processes.
