New Renishaw Central update
Renishaw has provided an update for its manufacturing data platform, Renishaw Central, to help manufacturers improve production efficiency and allow them to monitor their additive manufacturing (AM) performance in real-time. Users are provided with feedback which is delivered by sensors fitted to AM systems that collects machine process data. After receiving the feedback, the operator can track the machine status, check which jobs have been completed, and find any errors.
The original version of Renishaw Central already provided users with access to time series data, environmental insights, and the results of any process changes. By providing users with the ability to compare data over time, they can optimise production by making necessary changes based off of the data.
“Unlike milling or machining, the AM process involves putting materials through phase changes, so manufacturers must keep a close eye on build performance to avoid any anomalies,” said Ben Diaz, Senior Product Manager at Renishaw. “Renishaw Central enables operators to connect multiple systems with one manufacturing data platform, improving communication across the shop floor.”
“The platform streams data seamlessly, enabling users to see real-time data from AM systems, CNC machines and other systems at a glance, as well as receive live machine and data analytics that can inform predictive maintenance.”
What’s new with Renishaw Central?
- Supports Renishaw’s Additive Manufacturing Process Monitoring (AMPM) solution.
- Added InfiniAM Spectral tool which monitors a specific part being built.
- Includes an InfiniAM Camera which can monitor the build process.
- Improved functionality which complements the AMPM suite and allows users to remotely monitor the machine’s process and performance.
“Renishaw Central enables manufacturers to connect their machines and gain valuable real-time insights via a connected workflow,” concluded Diaz. “All of this is available to view using a user-friendly graphic display, so manufacturers can easily introduce the software to their facilities along with InfiniAM Spectral and InfiniAM Camera.”
