Open X Education, the interactive learning platform made in collaboration with Verisurf Software, Inc., has announced the launch of a new metrology learning programme for individuals interested in pursuing careers in the rapidly growing manufacturing and metrology industries, as well as for professionals looking to enhance their skills. The training focuses on CMM programming for inspection and quality reporting of produced parts and assemblies, including Renishaw 5-axis probing systems programming. Students who successfully complete the course earn a CMM programing and inspection certification.
Open X is a cutting-edge online education platform designed specifically for working professionals that require flexibility. The CMM Programming and Inspection course is the latest in a series of popular metrology courses that includes Fundamentals of Reverse Engineering and Verisurf Quick Surface. Verisurf contributes actual examples of real-world processes, best practises, and contributions from professionals with decades of expertise in the industry to the Open X metrology curriculum.
"We developed the Open X learning platform specifically for working professionals and students looking to advance their current career or get started in a new career. We have found that collaborating with experts, such as Verisurf, gives our curriculum a practical advantage over theory-based learning. Students emerge better qualified and prepared for the realities of the profession," said Cody James, CEO of Open X.
Verisurf Software is a CAD-based programme that is utilised throughout the CMM Programming and Inspection course. Verisurf has a long history of pioneering the development and maintenance of metrology software systems based on Model-Based Definition (MBD). The CAD model is at the heart of MBD; it is the supreme authority for defining a part or a complete product by giving a defined 3D data set with the necessary GD&T annotations for inspection, measurement, analysis, tool creation, and reverse engineering. MBD is the recognised source of definitions for all of these and other applications.
"Dimensional metrology and the need for trained professionals in the field continues to grow among all sectors of manufacturing, from tier one aerospace entities to their supply chains. We feel it is our responsibility to support the manufacturing industry with high-quality training and support for the next generation of metrologists," said Ernie Husted, President and CEO of Verisurf Software.
Verisurf training is offered 24/7 through the Open X online platform to any business or individual interested in developing the dimensional metrology abilities required in today's technology-driven and automated industrial environments. Access to courses is possible by desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
