Mahr now offers ISO 21920 accreditation
Mahr has successfully acquired the ISO 21920 accreditation from the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS). The ISO 21920 relates to a new roughness standard that Mahr will deliver in its calibration services.
The production measurement technology provider will now offer its customers the opportunity to have their surface measurement technology standards calibrated (to ISO 21920 standards) at its DAkkS laboratory.
Regarding the new standards, Arne Deppe, Manager of Calibration Centre Systems Göttingen, explained, “The previous profile standards have been withdrawn and replaced by the new roughness standards.” This would indicate that long-term parameters or designations will gradually disappear and be replaced over time.
To ease this transition period, Mahr will provide calibration certifications relating to both the previous and new standards. Deppe hopes that “This allows our customers to compare the parameters directly and see the innovations at a glance.”
