API unveils redesign its XD Laser and wireless SwivelCheck.
Automated Precision Inc (API) launches its newly redesigned XD Laser and all-new wireless SwivelCheck. The metrology solutions specialist claims that the upgrades will bring performance gains and improved user convenience regarding machine tool calibration.
As machine tools ensure high levels of accuracy, improved levels of quality assurance should also be expected. Additionally, maintenance and calibration machines also help identify issues before they occur, which can help reduce costs, minimise wasted parts, and limit the amount of rework that needs to occur.
“API pioneered advanced machine tool calibration with Dr. Kam Lau’s invention of the straight-line interferometer for axial measurement of CNC machines. API’s XD Laser remains the only machine tool calibration laser that provides 6DoF measurement data for all axis errors in a single setup. And that innovation continues in the next generation of MTC products from API.”
Key notes from the redesign
Regarding the XD Laser:
- Improved thermal stability.
- Internal antenna for improved connectivity.
- More efficient power management with a new AC adapter.
Regarding the SwivelCheck:
- Wireless design improved flexibility and machine coverage levels.
- 40% reduction in size making handling and positioning better.
“API is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in precision measurement technology,” said Joe Bioty, President of API. “The redesigned XD Laser and the new wireless SwivelCheck are a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence. These products are designed to meet the evolving needs of our customers, providing them with the tools they need to achieve the highest levels of accuracy and efficiency.”
