Aberlink's Halo CNC CMM
Aberlink has launched a cheaper version of its high-performance Horizon CMM series. The Halo CNC CMM is a belt-driven version of its predecessor, which has a linear drive. The 3D measurement specialists developed the new CMM to fill the performance/cost gap in the market. According to Aberlink, the Halo CNC CMM is perfect for those who do not require the extremely high metrology performance levels of its Horizon series.
“Since the launch of the Horizon CMM in September 2020, feedback from our UK and international customers highlighted a price/performance gap in our mid-sized cartesian CMM portfolio,” said Chris Davies, Sales Director at Aberlink.
“Our thirty-one years’ experience in CMM design and innovation has enabled us to bring the belt-drive version of the Horizon CNC CMM range to market in less than six months. We know the Halo CNC CMM will be very popular with our domestic customers and our distributor network, located in over forty countries worldwide.”
Key features of the Halo CNC CMM:
- High load capacity with its solid granite table.
- Enhanced accuracy with laser error mapping.
- Includes Aberlink’s easy-to-use measurement software.
- Smooth motion is ideal for contact scanning.
- The user does not need to be a CMM expert to use this system.
The Halo system offers a first-term error of 1.8µm when paired with the Renishaw SP25 scanning probe. The solution is also available in four different sizes, with the smaller editions ideal for metrology laboratories with low ceiling heights. Additionally, Aberlink’s new product offers enhanced reliability and durability levels.
