Optics and optoelectronics company ZEISS has released the latest version of its ZEISS CALYPSO general measuring software, which allows users to conduct tactile and optical measurements with ZEISS coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), as well as verification and analysis of 3D data.

Key information:

The latest update of the ZEISS CALYPSO software provides users with a host of performance functionality improvements. With the new update, the software provides users with improved algorithms for evaluations which allows them to work more effectively with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

"This year we focus on performance-related functionalities. We have extended the ZEISS CALYPSO scope of functions together with our customers," Christoph Grieser, Head of Global Software Sales at ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, explains.

Improved usability across the board appears to be the biggest improvement with increased individualisation and improved usability and fault analysis. The software features a new toolbox, set to reduce the number of working steps, while an automated fault analysis concept ensures automation and saves the user valuable time with all faults automatically displayed in an interactive report.

"Usability is very important to us and to our customers: We focus on the challenges our customers have to face day by day. When developing ZEISS CALYPSO, we wanted to create a software for efficient, secure and fast processing of data volumes in an intelligent way," said Grieser.

As well as the ability to add CALYPSO freeform or CALYPSO curve to the new software for additional options and individualisation, ZEISS offers evaluation functions for CMMs such as ZEISS O-DETECT.

"We continuously develop and optimise our software. Additionally, new applications permanently generate the need for new functionalities, which we integrate in our software. We have a clear goal: to continue being a reliable partner to our customers," Grieser summarizes.
