The L.S. Starrett Co. has introduced its latest KMR Series Video System, which is said to deliver fast, accurate video measurement and inspection in a non-PC format.

The U.S. headquartered manufacturer of precision measuring tools and gages says the KMR-MX 200 Video Measurement System is a ‘unique platform’ that provides the speed and accuracy of a video-based platform without the need for Windows-based software or a PC.

The system can provide a wide range of measurements and is expected to appeal to users in medical, aerospace, defence and other industries that require traceable and secure measurement data.

The KMR-MX 200 features a manually driven 8" x 4" (200 mm x 100 mm) X-Y stage motion with a 5" (125 mm) Z-travel, paired with a 6.5:1 zoom lens. The system includes a MetLogix Mx200 Digital Readout in a stacked display format with a 14" (355 mm) monitor. It offers a scale resolution of 0.5μm.

“We are very pleased to offer our customers a new option for video inspection and measurement which ensures the highest quality control, without requiring a PC,” said Mr. Mark Arenal, General Manager, The L.S. Starrett Company – Metrology Division.

In addition to video measurement systems, Starrett also specialises in optical comparators and vision systems and force and hardness testing solutions, in addition to laser measurement systems, custom engineered granite solutions, custom gaging, band saw blades, power tool accessories, saw blades, workshop tools and job site tools.
