Marposs Group has acquired German measurement systems company MeSys. The German organisation specialises in non-contact and radiation-free measurement systems for flexible, flat and very thin materials.

Key highlights:

The Marposs Group is aiming to enhance its position in the e-mobility industry through the acquisition of MeSys. It is planning to develop MeSys’s existing portfolio of technologies and is aiming to create new applications for the production of electrodes and separators used in lithium-ion batteries within the automotive industry.

Marposs has already established advanced systems for testing automotive electrics and battery pack, module and cell durability and seal resistance. Now, using MeSys’s devices, the control system suppliers are aiming to expand its range of solutions dedicated to the battery cell production process.

Who is MeSys?

MeSys was founded around 30 years ago with the goal of developing and manufacturing simple, effective, reliable, and safe on-line and off-line measurement systems. The company specialises in developing and manufacturing non-contact, non-radiometric measurement systems for web measurement of surface weight, moisture and thickness level.

The measurement systems company has since branched out into the automotive, construction, energy, food, packaging, and sanitary industries.

And what about Marposs Group?

The Marposs Group, first established in 1952, supplies high-precision measuring, inspection and process control systems to industries all over the world. Since the 2000s, Marposs now acquires well-structured and established companies. Typically, these organisations are held back by their reach, with most operating in only their local areas. But with the help of Marposs, these companies are now able to increase their reach.
