Hoytom: testing powered by HBM

The Spanish testing specialist Hoytom makes quality control equipment and electromechanical and electrohydraulic machines for material tests, with capacities ranging from 5 kN up to 2000 kN for tensile tests and more for compression testing.

Certified by the Spanish National Accreditation Body (ENAC) since 1996, Hoytom provides calibration services on their customers’ premises, issuing relevant certificates on the condition of their machines, including all areas of force, stress, strain, and hardness. Whether it’s raw materials or components, Hoytom’s test machines are used throughout the manufacturing process of a product.

The company now exports around 50% of their machines, as for a number of years they have offered designs to equip their customers’ facilities as well. The customers come from a range of different industries including automotive, aerospace, construction, as well as materials such as steel and composites or components like nuts and bolts. Hardness testers and pendulums used to determine the hardness and toughness of materials are also available.

This is mainly due to the confidence they have in the accuracy and reliability of HBM U10M force transducer, ensuring the minimum values of linearity deviation, hysteresis and reversibility error, together with a high degree of reproducibility.”

Hoytom’s commitment to use HBM parts increased from 2015, when the third generation took over management of the family-run business. Focused on further improving their machines, managers were convinced that the load cells were a key factor, and their long-standing experience with HBM-supplied calibration standards and calibration measurement equipment backed up their decision to stick with HBM.
