Zygo ZeGage Pro 3D
Zygo Corporation, a business unit of AMETEK, will showcase a selection of its 3D optical profilers at IMTS 2024. Among the company’s displays will be the ZeGage Pro HR, the Newview 9000, and the Nexview NX. The latter of which will be fitted with a robotic arm to show attendees how sample measurements can be automated. Additionally, the Verifire 3.39 IR laser interferometer will also be in Chicago.
The optical metrology specialist is well established in the advanced manufacturing industry due to its reputation for providing precise and accurate surface measurements and quality control tools. Zygo’s equipment allows the user to achieve tight tolerances and ensure product reliability.
Nexview NX2 optical profiler
Zygo’s Nexview NX2 system offers fast, precise measurements in surface roughness, topography, and film thickness applications. This can be achieved without the need for sample preparation, with the solution able to handle a wide range of surfaces.
Alongside the NX2 will be the Newview 9000 optical profiler which leverages Zygo’s Coherence Scanning Interferometry (CSI) technology. This will allow the user to conduct measurements of steep slopes and transparent materials.
“At the IMTS event, we will be showing our Nexview NX2 optical profiler with a robotic arm facilitating automated sample measurements. Automating sample measurements enhances precision, consistency, and efficiency in data collection compared to manual sample changes,” said Michael Schmidt, Senior Product Development Manager at Zygo.
“It minimises human error, ensures repeatable positioning, and allows for continuous operation, significantly speeding up the measurement process. It also reduces the risk of sample contamination and mechanical damage and frees up skilled personnel for more complex tasks. Automated sample measurement is crucial in high-precision industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, biomedical research, and materials science where accuracy, consistency, and efficiency are paramount.”
ZeGage Pro HR optical profiler
The Nexview NX2 isn’t the only optical profiler Zygo is taking to IMTS. The ZeGage Pro HR will also be on display.
“Also, at the IMTS event, attendees will be able to see the ZeGage Pro HR optical profiler in action. Unlike other optical surface profilers, the ZeGage Pro HR maintains high precision at all of its magnification options, and it is not affected by the environment it operates in,” continues Schmidt.
“You can take it out of the QA lab, place it directly beside your production equipment, and get precise 3D surface metrology. Built on Zygo’s proprietary CSI technology, the ZeGage Pro HR enables precise, reliable, simple, and confident surface metrology efficiently and cost-effectively across a range of industry applications.”
Verifire 3.39 IR laser interferometer
Finally, Zygo will exhibit its Verifire 3.39 IR laser interferometer in Chicago. The optical metrology specialist is a highly regarded name in interferometric testing with systems varying from the deep ultraviolet to the far infrared.
Schmidt concludes, “The Verifire 3.39 IR laser interferometer is designed for general IR optical system testing used to evaluate and characterise optical performance. It is crucial for ensuring the performance and reliability of infrared optical components and systems, commonly used in applications like thermal imaging, remote sensing, and infrared spectroscopy. Come along to booth 134470 at IMTS, and let’s discuss how our range of optical metrology solutions can assist in your exacting manufacturing endeavours.”
If you are attending IMTS 2024, from 9-14 September, you will find ZYGO at booth 134470.
