Varjo's Teleport solution
Varjo has announced the general availability of its Teleport solution. Designed to offer high-resolution 3D scanning capabilities using only a smartphone, the solution is now available to both professional and individual users.
During the solution's beta period, which has now concluded with the commercial launch, Varjo collaborated with around 2,000 professionals and enterprises to help develop the solution. Beta testers were able to fully scan places in 5-10 minutes.
“Today, we are proud to release Teleport, the most visually impressive 3D scanning solution publicly available, and the only one able to bring digital twins directly into virtual reality,” said Patrick Wyatt, Chief Product Officer at Varjo. “This service will change the way professionals work, making it easier than ever to capture, share, and analyse real-world places.”
Teleport works by enabling users to create photorealistic digital twins by synthesising HD 3D scenes out of photographs taken on a smartphone. Locations captured on Teleport can be viewed on a phone, PC, or through a virtual reality (VR) device. This helps to reduce the time and complexity associated with digitalising real-world locations.

By securing this new funding, Varjo has been able to speed up the adoption of the XR hardware and software in industrial environments. This has helped the company offer productivity, creativity, and efficiency benefits to its customers.
“On NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform, we can push the boundaries of what’s possible in immersive technology, delivering unparalleled experiences for the most demanding industrial users as they bring their workflows into virtual environments,” said Timo Toikkanen, Varjo CEO
