Renishaw
XK10 M unit data stich application.
Renishaw has updated its CARTO software to feature an analysis-based data stitch functionality for long-axis measurements using the XK10 alignment laser system. The stitch, developed to reduce noise on long-axis measurements caused by air turbulence, is located in CARTO Explorer.
“The XK10 laser is used in demanding environments during machine tool build,” said Dan Throup, Senior Product Manager at Renishaw. “Even though the XK10 laser can measure up to 30 metres, our users wanted to improve the measurement performance by capturing data over multiple short sections and stitching them together.”
Breaking measurements down into smaller sections and stitching them together will lead to environmental factors having a limited impact. This can lead to an accuracy increase in measurements overall.
The CARTO software platform, designed for the company’s laser calibration products, features three applications. These are:
- Capture: For collecting laser measurement data.
- Explore: Where powerful analysis can occur to international standards.
- Compensate: Performs quick and easy error corrections.
