KTM is set to adopt PTC’s Industrial Application Management (ALM) platform, Codebeamer. The high-performance sports motorbike manufacturer has opted to extend its deal with the Reading-based software company as it aims to centralise and optimise its engineering processes, relating to both software and hardware development.
Codebeamer will replace two of KTM’s existing systems to improve cross-functional collaboration and accelerate the time to market for new products. Additionally, the motorsport manufacturer will then extend its ALM solution further to cover complete vehicles.
"KTM's goal is to maintain and continuously expand our leading position in motorbike development,” commented a Spokesperson for KTM. “To achieve this, it is sometimes crucial to bring high-quality innovations to the market faster and the integration of Codebeamer into our workflows will help us to achieve this by implementing highly efficient development processes.”
Codebeamer will provide a uniform platform for both product and software development which will also encourage further internal collaboration. The uniformity also eliminates the need for internal data to be exchanged between varying systems, increasing the speed and quality of project implementation.
“This deal reinforces our strategy to accelerate digital transformation in the dynamic automotive industry,” added Christoph Bräuchle, Senior Vice President and General Manager of PTC's ALM segment. “It gives us special motivation to deploy our solution to support KTM in the development of its fascinating and innovative products.”
