LK Metrology
LK Metrology acquires Nikon Metrology's laser scanning and Focus software business.
LK Metrology has acquired Nikon Metrology’s laser scanning and Focus software business. In 2018, LK Metrology relaunched after being a division of Nikon Metrology, becoming an independent coordinate measuring machine (CMM) manufacturer. Since the relaunch, the duo has worked closely together to develop non-contact inspection solutions. As a result, Nikon Metrology’s laser scanners and Focus software are compatible with LK Metrology’s solutions.
Through the deal, all of Nikon Metrology’s laser scanning R&D, service and production resources will be transferred to LK Metrology. This will allow the company to support its existing customers and innovate all solutions. Both companies will continue to work closely together throughout the transition phase.
About Nikon Metrology’s laser scanning and Focus software business:
For over 25 years, Nikon Metrology has developed 3D laser scanners that can be mounted on CMMs to complete automated inspection tasks. Additionally, the solutions can also be operated manually using articulated measuring arms. This allows users to digitalise parts by optically capturing millions of high-precision points.
