KISTERS' 3DViewStation helps future-proof the value chain by transforming 2D drawings into 3D CAD data. This innovation follows the growing trend in various industries as companies recognise the value of fully model-based 3D design (MBD). The solution reads and visualises annotations within the 3D CAD model, making information easier to locate.

MBD refers to a 3D CAD model containing information for the manufacturing and inspection of a product, known as Product Manufacturing Information (PMI). Using this model, it becomes a single source of truth regarding the product’s information, also known as a 3D Master, which replaces the traditional 2D drawings.

Taking MBD a step further, model-based enterprise (MBE) aims to revolutionise the entire development process. Utilising solutions the 3DViewStation hopes to support this transition by allowing annotated 3D CAD models and the easy visualisation of annotations on the original file. This feature goes on to aid collaboration efforts.
