System Designer for PCIe
Keysight Technologies (Keysight) unveils the latest edition of its Advanced Design System (ADS) product suite, the System Designer for PCIe. The new solution is set to support simulation workflows based on industry standards for high-speed, high-frequency digital designs.
The System Designer PCIe is an intelligent design environment that can be used for modelling and simulating the latest Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) Gen5 and Gen6 systems. With its high-speed data transfer capabilities, scalability, and adaptability, PCIe is the interface standard across various electronics industry segments.
Additionally, Keysight is improving its electronic design automation (EDA) platform. New features are being added to the existing Chiplet PHY Design tool. The Chiplet PHY Designer is “the EDA industry’s first simulation solution for Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe) standard.” Now, it will be able to estimate chiplet die-to-die link margin performance and Voltage Transfer Function (VTF) compliance measurements. Additionally, the new solution has new design exploration and report generation features that aim to speed up signal integrity analysis and compliance verification.
Key features of the System Designer PCIe:
- Automates and simplifies multi-link, multi-lane, and multi-level (PAM4) setup.
- Supports NRZ and PAM4 modulations allowing for quick AMI model generation which is required for PCIe system analysis.
- Gives users a wizard-driven AMI model generation workflow which can quickly create models for both transmitters (Tx) and receivers (Rx).
- Improved design quality assurance with streamlined, simulation-driven virtual compliance testing.
- Cost reductions with fewer design iterations needed due to simulation-driven PCIe compliance test workflows.
- Shorter time-to-market scale.
“We continue to expand our standards-driven workflow approach to support our customers. Our high-speed digital product portfolio is leading the EDA industry with the most accurate and advanced simulation software for signal integrity analysis and compliance test validation,” said Hee-Soo Lee, Director of the High-Speed Digital segment at Keysight EDA. “Digital standards such as PCIe and UCIe are critical to the performance of electronic systems. Designers using our PCIe and UCIe simulation solutions in their workflows can shift left their development cycle to save significant time and cost.”
