Baker Hughes has revealed its new agreement with multi-energy company, Repsol. The duo will collaborate on the development and deployment of new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities utilising the Leucipa automated field production solution.
As a result of this work, AI-powered automation workflows will be developed and implemented throughout Repsol’s assets. The pair will be sharing knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise to optimise production, improve efficiency, and reduce emissions.
“Artificial intelligence is revolutionising energy production, and Leucipa enables companies to operate more efficiently to recover more from their assets,” said Amerino Gatti, Executive Vice President of Oilfield Services & Equipment at Baker Hughes. “Repsol has long been a trusted collaborator, and their support has helped Leucipa develop into the industry’s most innovative and effective digital production software. We are excited to work together to accelerate the energy industry’s digital evolution.”
Key features of the Leucipa solution:
- An automated field production solution ideal for applications within the oil and gas applications.
- Harnesses data to drive intelligent operations.
- Allows users to reduce inefficiency levels, become more environmentally friendly, and aid users in recovering millions of barrels that would have remained in the ground.
Repsol is leveraging the Leucipa solution to help optimise the company’s digital infrastructure and operational capabilities. The agreement with the energy technology company was signed in October of this year, deepening the relationship between the pair, creating new commercial opportunities for Leucipa, and reinforcing Repsol’s position in the industry.
