VXintegrity software platform: surface damage assessment modernised

Creaform, a business unit of AMETEK, announced the release of VXintegrity, its new software platform developed specifically as a 3D scanning solution for surface damage assessment. The main message is that the new software ‘removes interpretation from the equation.’

VXintegrity was designed specifically with Non Destructive Testing (NDT) service companies in mind and contains four different modules that are intended to take on surface analyses of any kind, as well as simple metrology applications.

The software facilitates measuring up to 80 times faster than with manual measuring tools, when paired with Creaform’s 3D scanners. This has the potential to be a great solution to the shortage of experienced technicians and aging and/or damaged infrastructures. It also boasts a simple setup, meaning technicians require minimal training before they can get to work efficiently.

Another field where the software shines is for industrial asset owners, as it allows them to have full confidence in the evaluation results and make the best maintenance decisions according to the collected data, as “it can accurately measure thickness loss on corroded, industrial, complex geometry such as elbows, nozzles, pressure vessel heads, tank floors and valves.” This provides the option for a complete analysis of all surface types.

There are four different application software modules, dedicated and designed for specific industries’ challenges that are regrouped in VXintegrity:

Pipeline module (also known as Pipecheck): The safest NDT solutions for pipeline integrity assessment, this module is designed to provide corrosion, denting (mechanical damage), and wrinkle analyses.

Aerospace module (also known as SmartDENT 3D): Ideal for the aerospace industry and for MRO companies, this versatile 3D scanning solution offers unmatched speed, ease of use, reliability and repeatability. New Monitoring module: Guaranteed to the micron, this monitoring solution is an extremely accurate and noiseless NDT method used to compare damage progression through time, deformation analyses and other simple metrology applications. With its impressive report capabilities, this module is the best way to ensure the integrity and safety of any infrastructure.
